What is
AAHSA?
The American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) is the
national nonprofit organization representing over 5,600 nonprofit nursing homes,
continuing care retirement communities, assisted living residences, senior housing
facilities and community service organizations for older adults and others with
special needs.
When you
join AAHSA, you join forces with not-for-profit providers of aging services
from across the country who are leaders in the long-term care field.. AAHSA

Works For You In Washington
AAHSA represents the concerns of not-for-profit providers of senior services
with a strong, united voice through its interaction with Congress and federal
agencies. Through advocacy, grassroots action and coalition work, AAHSA influences
public policy pertaining to health, housing, community and related services
to ensure that seniors receive the services they need, and to protect and enhance
the viability of not-for-profit providers. AAHSA also offers members information
and assistance in interpreting relevant bills, laws and regulations.

you up-to-date on Congressional and regulatory action, and trends and issues

Primary
Members
The American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging has been a leader
in the field of care and services for seniors since its founding in 1961. Nonprofit
providers of care and services are the primary members. AAHSA represents over
5,600 nursing homes, continuing care retirement communities, senior housing
facilities, assisted living residences and community-based service organizations.
If your organization
wishes to join AAHSA, please contact the AAHSA state affiliate in your state.
AAHSA has 39 state affiliates. The listing of affiliated state associations
is available on the AAHSA home page, www.aahsa.org. If your state is not listed,
you may join AAHSA directly by calling (202) 783-2242 or by e-mail to inform@aahsa.org.
Provider
member dues are based on the number of beds or apartments or units. Community-based
services pay a millage rate based upon expenses. Organizations join through
the state association, which collects the AAHSA dues.
Associate
Members Organizations and individuals who support the mission and purpose
of AAHSA are eligible to join. The associate member category includes individuals,
national, state and local organizations, retired administrators from AAHSA facilities,
students, attorneys, and business firms. Associate members can join AAHSA directly.
The dues for the associate categories are as follows:
